Queers Of Miami (Queer Humans Of Miami)

Fall 2024 Online Curator

Queers Of Miami (Queer Humans Of Miami) Miami, FL

Queers of Miami (QofMiami)

invites new/experienced curators (4 in total) (autumn 2024 (1 role available each) winter 2024, fall 2025, summer 2025)

What?

An individual QofMiami artists is volunteer that has the passion to curate the free virtual gallery on Queers of Miami Boynton Beach Arts and Cultural Center (BBACC). Four curators will be chosen to organize 2 to 3-month virtual exhibitions between in 2024 and 2025.

QofMiami Curatorial responsibilities will include, but is not limited to attending opening receptions, hanging work, providing a curatorial statement, finding artists, and writing wall text. This is an excellent opportunity for both practicing curators and artists to experiment with and develop their curatorial vision, as well as build their audience and portfolios. The curator may include their own art in the exhibition.

With the ongoing development of Miami-Dade/Cutler Bay/Wilton Manors as an arts and cultural destination, the QofMiami Virtual Gallery has already hosted alcohol-free sober open mics, sound bowl healing, and much more volunteer opportunities. Since our current Curator and Founder are about to pursue the business side of art we want to use this virtual gallery to raise awareness and the importance of having a permanent Queers of Miami gallery full of art because life without art is EH! And life without Queers is still CUIR!

Therefore Quiragua’s virtual gallery QueersofMiami and Nunez’s virtual gallery CuirdeMiami is opening in 2025 to a diverse and growing audience. All shows will be marketed as a partnership between Queers of Miami & Cuir de Miami POLAROID STATIONS :)
