Duties And Responsibilities

The College of Arts and Sciences at North Park University seeks applications for a one-year visiting professor position in the Department of Biology to begin in August 2024. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in biology or a closely related field and will teach full load of biology courses during the 2024-2025 academic year. Teaching responsibilities will include lecture and laboratory courses with emphasis on Microbiology as well as other courses as dictated by departmental need.

Requirements

Required:

  • Ph.D. in biology or a related discipline
  • A clear understanding of North Park University's mission of Christian higher education.


Desired:

  • Knowledge of microbiology laboratory techniques
  • Teaching experience
  • Research experience in microbiology or a related field.
  • Experience teaching university-level microbiology courses
  • Ability to work independently and with others.
  • Comfort with using modern technology.
