The Department of Psychological Science at Gardner-Webb University (GWU) announces a 9-month tenure-track position for an Assistant Professor or an Instructor of Psychology. This is a campus-based position that primarily teaches seated classes in our undergraduate program. We are looking for a candidate who is ABD or already has a Ph.D. in General/Experimental Psychology, who could also teach introductory level courses in general psychology and developmental psychology and other courses as needed. Candidates with various areas of specialization will be considered, such as biological psychology/neuroscience, developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, sensation-perception, social psychology, health psychology, and sport psychology.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Uphold and further the Gardner-Webb University Mission and Statement of Values
  • Instruct, evaluate, and advise students in the context of the Psychological Science curriculum
  • Develop courses in one’s field of interest
  • Mentor students on research projects
  • Write and secure research grants
  • Participate in activities of state, regional, and national organizations to promote the Department of Psychological Science within academic and professional communities.
  • Participate as a member of department and University level committees.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ABD or Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology.
