Position Overview
As an adjunct faculty member, you'll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality education in public health and nutrition. You'll engage students through innovative teaching methods, ensuring they grasp and demonstrate mastery of the learning objectives. Courses may span various levels, including undergraduate and graduate, covering topics such as Determinants of Health, Introduction to Public Health, Nutrition, Anatomy & Physiology, and Advanced Clinical Nutrition.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging course content using diverse teaching methods and assessments to support student learning.
Assist students in achieving and demonstrating mastery of learning objectives.
Maintain an inclusive learning environment that values diversity and fosters community engagement.
Prepare and maintain course materials and syllabi in accordance with university guidelines.
Provide timely feedback and support to students to enhance their academic success.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
Collaborate with departmental colleagues and academic counselors to support student needs.
Qualifications
Master's degree in public health, science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
At least one year of teaching experience in higher education.
Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential in Rhode Island or eligibility to obtain upon hire.
Proficiency in teaching online courses and familiarity with Blackboard.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in health sciences, nutrition, or a related field.
Compensation And Benefits
Compensation ranges from $4,100 to $4,700 per course, commensurate with qualifications and course level.
Part-time position with benefits, including employee assistance and travel assistance programs.
Eligibility for paid sick time.
