Job Summary:
The Facility Operator will ensure the safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation of waste treatment, oil treatment, and water injection at our client's facility. This role involves adhering to standard operating procedures, conducting hazard assessments, and supporting safety programs and environmental protection initiatives. Regular customer interaction requires excellent communication skills and a commitment to high-quality customer service.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of the facility
Manage truck unloading, oil emulsion, and water & vac trucks
Operate oil treating equipment including treaters, coolers, and tank systems
Participate in waste processing, including mud tank operations, shaker & centrifuge operations, and solids treating
Handle the receipt, terminal storage, and transportation of crude oil, ensuring compliance with Measurement & Crude Oil Quality standards
Maintain ongoing water injection processes, change filters, and perform pump maintenance
Conduct treatment of solids on the waste pad
Perform boiler operations, testing, and steam system operations
Ensure compliance with all corporate safety programs and environmental regulations
Submit truck ticket summaries, daily plant checklists, and balance and transfers to the office
Participate in the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS)
Operate the waste plant to ensure solids processing meets landfill criteria, including conducting solids testing
Follow water injection SOPs and best practices to protect disposal well integrity
Perform general maintenance and keep the plant clean and safe
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Minimum 3 years in operational roles related to waste processing, oil treating, or water injection. Midstream terminal operations experience is highly desirable
Training: Specialty training in boilers, treaters, pumps, repairs, shaker/centrifuge, and loader operations is an asset
Certifications: Current and valid safety tickets including H2S Alive, First Aid Level One C, Confined Space Entry, WHIMS, and TDG
Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a demanding environment. Ability to document work, manage cross-shift communication, and troubleshoot issues effectively
Other: Valid and acceptable Driver’s license and successful completion of pre-employment testing
