The Facilities Maintenance Lead will support the Facilities Services Supervisor by utilizing software and office programs to assign work orders efficiently. This position involves creating and distributing work orders, overseeing capital improvement projects, and ensuring best practices are followed within the Facilities Management Department.
Leadership Responsibilities
Communicate effectively with the supervisor to meet deadlines
Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, assessing the need for external vendor assistance
Conduct meetings to establish priorities and schedules, balancing critical issues with available resources
Assist in property inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines
Perform preventive maintenance walkthroughs at each site to ensure safety and comfort
Team Collaboration
Generate reports using the Work Order System and present findings to managers
Coordinate with team members from various programs to address priority items efficiently
Work with team members and contractors to ensure timely completion of tasks
Assist with purchasing by providing cost-effective solutions
Schedule meetings to maintain departmental standards and provide updates on work being done
Advocacy And Community Partnership
Attend meetings to gather feedback on property operations
Address needs of individuals and team members across agency programs
Maintain facilities that provide safe access for everyone
Collaborate with interns, volunteers, and vendors to support positive relationships within the community
Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to communicate effectively
Extensive knowledge of managing web-based software for work order systems
Strong organizational and time management skills
Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks
Excellent communication skills at all levels within the organization
Education/Certification
High School Diploma/GED required
Valid Illinois Driver's License required
Experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and internal work order systems
Up to one year of job-related experience preferred
Abilities
Ability to lift, bend, climb, kneel, push, pull, and carry weights
Physical stamina to walk extended distances and respond to maintenance calls
Driving skills required for the role
**Hours**
Monday - Friday 7:30-4pm (some late evenings/weekends if needed)

$28.00 per hour
