Facilities Engineer

Essential Functions

  • Serve as a contact for employees for any building related issues (spills, damage, emergencies, repairs, etc.)
  • Conduct routine walkthroughs and inspections of facility and site
  • Perform day-to-day facility maintenance, planning, and build-outs and reconfigurations. Identify contractor candidates, get quotes from contractors for projects, and follow up and execute the projects.
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot all facility systems (HVAC, mechanical controls, electrical power, mechanical controls, access control, and energy management, among others)
  • Gather and review data concerning facility and/or equipment operation for energy efficiency and conservation research
  • Investigates unplanned events affecting facility operations and takes appropriate corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence
  • Assists in development and maintenance of Facilities processes and procedures
  • Generate and update maintenance plans, task lists, checklists, and facility-related drawings
  • Assists with infrastructure upgrade planning and related cost management
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating periodic shutdown(s) to service and maintain equipment and/or building systems
  • Manage landscaping maintenance contractors, grounds and services.
  • Responsible for 24/7 building on-call duties
  • Assist with Shipping and Receiving duties
  • Enter Purchase Requests for required building related materials/supplies
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • 5 - 10 years of related experience
  • Must be able to effectively communicate (oral and written) with all employees, contractors, and vendors
  • Analytical and decision making skills to determine appropriate action; sometimes under pressure and/or against strict time constraints
  • Ability to use standard powered and non-powered tools
  • Manage multiple project priorities and coordinate with multiple vendors
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize own daily work routine
  • Fluency in reading and evaluating construction plans (architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural, etc.)
  • Able to read and interpret documents regarding various building codes, safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Proficient in MS Office applications with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in building automation/management systems (BAS/BMS)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, all hands on.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate reports
