PRESENTATION:

This position is to assist Fabric and Trim R&D Department in its duty of servicing the Design Studio in researching, developing and ordering materials, and organizing fabric library.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Fabric and Trim Assistant will be responsible for.

• Assisting in the sourcing and development of all fabric and trims.
• Organizing and pricing all fabric swatches received for review.
• Organizing and maintaining fabric and trim library.
• Communicating with vendors on material availabilities for sampling and SMS.
• Obtaining material spec sheets from suppliers.
• Reviewing and ensuring material spec sheets are properly completed.
• Creating raw material codes in PLM system (WFX).
• Ordering / Creating PO’s for material sample yardage and SMS and follow up on deliveries.
• Receiving and checking in all in-house materials and trims.
• Preparing and maintaining quality standard forms.
• Preparing and updating seasonal fabric hand off books.
• Creating and maintaining material boards.
• Updating and maintaining fabric WIP reports.
• Update and maintain accurate data on purchase orders.
• Place lab dip requests
• Organize and prepare all lab dips and SMS fabrics for review.
• Send lab dip and SMS comments.
• Attend weekly cross functional team meetings.
• Assist R&D department with all other required tasks.
• Connecting Mills with Vendors for Full Package Styles
• Create PO’s for Production Fabrics and working with Import agent as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of textiles and their applications a plus
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent communications skills
• Must be detail orientated
• Strong sense of urgency
• Ability to meet deadlines while responding to additional requests and incoming work
