A Freight Forwarding and Logistics company are looking to hire an Export Specialist, Air & Ocean Freight to join their growing team in the Washington, DC/VA area.
This position offers hybrid working (2-3 days in office and the remainder working from home).
Responsibilities:
Liaise with internal and external clients, as well as overseas agencies to ensure the successful delivery of freight
Produce ocean freight and air freight waybills
Schedule pick-up, delivery and track shipments with air and ocean carriers
Prepare quotations for international outbound freight
Coordinate the export process from start to finish
Process shipping documentation including export declarations
Enter relevant data into the internal system
Negotiate rates with vendors and clients
Key Requirements:
At least 2 years experience in Freight Forwarding, Export, Air or Ocean Freight
Good export operations experience including booking air and ocean freight
Must have export compliance experience
Superior communication skills
Proficient user of Microsoft Suite
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting strict deadlines
