Export Compliance Manager - ITAR

Job Description & Skill Requirement:

Regulatory Compliance:

Interpret, implement, and ensure compliance with ITAR regulations, as well as other relevant export control laws and regulations.

Stay updated on changes to ITAR regulations and export control lists, and communicate relevant updates to the appropriate stakeholders within the organization.

Licensing and Documentation:

Prepare and submit export license applications to the U.S. Department of State's Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) for approval.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of export transactions, licenses, agreements, and other documentation required by ITAR.

Classification and Technical Data Management:

Classify products, components, and technical data to determine their export control classification under ITAR.

Establish and maintain procedures for the proper handling, storage, and transfer of controlled technical data and materials in compliance with ITAR requirements.

Training and Education:

Develop and deliver training programs on ITAR compliance for employees involved in export and import activities.

Provide guidance and support to internal teams to ensure understanding and adherence to ITAR regulations and company policies.

Risk Assessment and Auditing:

Conduct risk assessments of proposed export transactions to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.

Perform regular audits of export control processes and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with ITAR requirements.

Customer and Vendor Relations:

Interface with customers, suppliers, and vendors to ensure compliance with ITAR regulations, including proper documentation and handling of controlled items.

Review contracts, agreements, and other documents to ensure that export control requirements are addressed appropriately.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvements related to ITAR compliance and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.
