We are looking for an experienced Machine/Saw Operator to join the manufacturing team in our Archbald Pa plant. This individual will assist with the setup, operation and control of the foam line.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs cleaning operations required to maintain equipment in good operating condition.
• Checks and maintains proper chemical levels in run tanks.
• Enter/adjust flow controls where necessary to obtain proper deliveries.
• Prepares and assembles mechanical components required to set up machine for operation.
• Assists with ensuring all foam machine troughs are properly maintained and installed.
• Involvement in daily breakdown of head on foam machine shutdowns.
• Helps maintains the chemical tank farm and north side of foam machine in a manner consistent with good housekeeping.
• Observe foam and report defects to Supervisor.
• Assists in the preparation of papers, films, start up block, and other related items in the normal set up procedure.
• Prepares shut down mechanism and manually blocks foam at the end of each run.
• Transports chemical drums, and make proper attachments based on the foam being run.
• Keep abreast of all changes in product and process.
• Know the quality standards of the products we produce.
• Help encourage and maintain good housekeeping.
• Assist production supervision as required.
• Check and change side rolls and bottom paper.
• Read a tape measure when measuring tank levels and bun sizes.
• Knowledge of fraction/decimal conversions.
• Reading comprehension skills adequate to understand written communication.
• Write legible and understandable communication.
  
  

Qualifications

GENERAL QUALITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Read, understand and be successfully trained on all related standard operating procedure and work instructions to perform tasks successfully and meet customer and QMS requirements.
• For specific quality expectations for this position, reference related SOP’s and work instructions
• Be qualified to use appropriate measurement device(s) such as ruler, caliper, tape measure, to verify product acceptance and proper machine operation.
• Constant visual inspection of materials and product to ensure acceptance
• Set aside any material or product that does not meet specification for disposition by appropriate personnel (supervisor, quality representative)
  
  

EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS:

• Pipe and adjustable wrenches, scraper, parts cleaning station, tape measurer, razor knife, drum jack
• Lift Truck and Heat Sealer
  
  

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

• Full personal protective equipment, work with hazardous chemicals, safety glasses with sideshields, leather steel toed boots or shoes, and follow safety procedures
• Lift truck license - Will certify
  
  

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Climb ladders and stairs and work at heights. Be approved by a physician for use of a respirator. Crawl under machine to make bottom plastic adjustment. Lift 50 pounds.
  
  

EDUCATION:

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or previous manufacturing experience preferred.
