Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer (EVP/COO) - HBCU

The EVP/COO at an Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) is a key leadership position overseeing the daily operations and strategic initiatives of the institution. Responsibilities include managing administrative functions, optimizing organizational processes, and collaborating with various departments to ensure the university's efficiency. The EVP/COO plays a central role in strategic planning, policy implementation, and overall organizational success within the context of an HBCU.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations to enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with departments to align strategies with institutional goals.
  • Lead and implement strategic initiatives to advance the HBCU's mission.
  • Manage administrative functions, ensuring smooth university operations.
  • Foster a collaborative and effective working environment across departments.

Counsel To The President - HBCU:

As Counsel to the President in an HBCU, you serve as the principal legal advisor to the university's president. Your role involves providing legal counsel, interpreting laws and regulations, and managing legal risks. You are responsible for ensuring the university's compliance with relevant legal standards, overseeing contractual agreements, and representing the institution's legal interests. The Counsel to the President plays a critical role in maintaining legal integrity and navigating legal complexities within the unique context of an HBCU.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal guidance to the university's president on various matters.
  • Interpret and apply laws and regulations relevant to higher education.
  • Manage legal risks and ensure institutional compliance with legal standards.
  • Oversee contractual agreements and negotiations on behalf of the HBCU.
  • Address legal matters affecting the university and represent its interests.

Both positions require exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and effective communication skills to successfully contribute to the growth and success of an HBCU.

Required Experience:

-10 Years of experience, preferably with an HBCU

  • Preferred experience with Lean Six Sigma and Jenzebar
