This is a retained search for an Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer with one of the most well-known independent reinsurance brokerage firms that operates as an ESOP; has a history of fostering wealth accumulation among its employees; has consistently achieved significant EBITA on a growing top line and is ranked among the Top 10 reinsurance intermediary earned brokerage firms nationwide. They’re technical reinsurance experts with a relationship-based business that has maintained the highest degree of client retention rates, and their proactive approach is just one reason for it.

As the EVP & CFO, you’ll report to the CEO and step into a culture where the firm’s values and principles are aligned around: Integrity and a long-term focus of thinking like a shareholder; an orientation of achievement, collaboration, and personal accountability; where work-life balance is not a catch phrase and where there’s a premium placed on teamwork and unity. As CFO, your role is both internally facing and, where subject matter expertise is needed, externally facing: You’ll build trust relationships with the firm’s broker teams, Executive Management, Board of Directors and especially with the employees reporting into and working with you; and you’ll build (as an accounting SME/lens is needed) trust-based relationships with your peer group of CFOs at the firm’s clients. You’ll also build internal succession planning frameworks, and in conjunction with the CEO and the Executive Operating Committee, you’ll build on and be an integral part of the review and execution of the firm’s market strategy and all dynamics related to the firm’s clients.

Compensation will be consistent with CFO compensation at a Group level. The firm recognizes the importance of offering a highly competitive compensation package, including long-term incentive-based compensation, to attract top talent.

Deep P&C/Reinsurance experience is what the firm will look for. Knowledge around treaty reinsurance and topics such as Loss Portfolio Transfers (“LPT’s”); Surplus Relief Quota Share; Surplus Notes; and Retroactive Reinsurance is ideal. A CPA is required, and a public accounting background would be ideal. A fuller job description is available.
