Academy of Art University is seeking a highly experienced Executive Vice President of Admissions whose primary responsibility is the creation and implementation of a student admissions strategy to increase the student body while maintaining its quality and diversity. This includes developing and leading strategic projects that extend lead generation across multiple platforms while partnering with our internal creative marketing team and vendors to deliver effective and innovative campaigns. The Executive Vice President of Admissions is an adaptive out-of-the-box thinker with sharp analytical and critical thinking skills; is adept at project management and data analysis; can multitask in a fast-paced environment; and will provide strategic leadership, from a market and service perspective to drive enrollment growth.


Responsibilities:

  • Effectively and efficiently manage all aspects of Domestic Undergraduate, Graduate, and International Admissions with the common objective of attracting students to the University.
  • Ensure effective and efficient contact with prospective students and ensure consistent and accurate positioning of the Academy of Art University product message.
  • Partner with internal and external teams to develop target audiences, strategies, and goals to translate those goals into admissions plans.
  • Work closely with the Executive Vice President of Financial Aid & Compliance, Executive Vice President of Student Affairs and other internal teams on all admission and compliance policies, procedures and initiatives and ensure continuity in the student experience.
  • Create and implement qualitative performance metrics to ensure department is supporting all prospective & enrolled students in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Develop and monitor key admissions metric/ratio indicators to achieve enrollment goals and department efficiency.
  • Report on admission strategies and results, enrollment trends, and other key indicators to and for the University President.
  • Implement and maintain effective strategies and procedures to develop and lead a highly motivated and knowledgeable staff of Admissions Directors, Managers & Representatives.
  • Develop routing strategies for inquiries and calling campaigns and effectively manage Admissions Operations Support to successful execution.
  • Oversee all product knowledge training and implement performance metrics to ensure department goals are met.
  • Ensure ongoing coaching and training of managers & representatives for current, accurate, and comprehensive program and admissions knowledge.
  • Drive curriculum and program changes as needed to meet market conditions.
  • Facilitate logistics for all domestic prospective student-related events in partnership with the Executive Vice President of Student Affairs.
  • Manage reconciliation of department expenditures including reimbursements, travel, and vendor contract payments.
  • Establish business/industry partnerships to meet goals and objectives.
  • Develop military recruiting strategy to achieve inquiry and enrollment goals.
  • Responsible for developing and managing the department budgets for all Domestic and International Admissions.
  • Ensure all department functions are executed in a manner compliant with accreditation requirements as well as state and/or federal laws/regulations.
  • Report compliance-related issues or concerns to the Academy’s Executive Vice President for Financial Aid and Compliance.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relative field required, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Very strong working knowledge of best recruitment and admissions practices in a private higher education.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to work with and recruit students from diverse populations and communities.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills and a commitment to detail and follow through.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and utilize performance metrics to ensure progress toward work goals of a large team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously with appropriate sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, train, inspire and develop staff, a minimum of five (5) years’ experience leading a team of at least 30 in a higher education setting.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience of professional experience in college admissions for a private University is Preferred.
  • Ability to travel to the San Francisco, California campus as needed, approximately four times annually


Remote position: (working PST hours)

Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 6:00 pm


Compensation:

$135,000 - $185,000 annually based on experience and location
