The Executive Director of Network Design and Supply is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the alignment of production schedules with suppliers, adherence to production timelines, and the overall operational excellence of the manufacturing and supply chain. This position supports both commercial and clinical customers, managing financial tracking, strategic partnerships, and network design. The role also involves maintaining inventory levels, tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and implementing Lean Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement and proactively mitigate risks.

Base salary is determined by several factors that include, but are not limited to, a successful candidate's qualifications, skills, education, experience, business needs, and market demands. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits, which include flexible paid time off (PTO), medical, dental, vision, and life and disability insurance.

Production Schedule Management:
- Ensure alignment of production schedules with suppliers to meet commercial and clinical customer demands
- Monitor and enforce adherence to production schedules
- Track actual spending against budget to ensure financial targets are met
- Implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality and timelines
- Actively collaborate with CMC, Quality, Planning, Technical, and Regulatory teams
- Act as a liaison to ensure cohesive strategy and execution across all departments
- Develop and implement strategies for optimizing the contract manufacturing process to meet the company's goals and objectives. This includes identifying potential manufacturing partners, negotiating contracts, and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives
- Lead and manage the design of the manufacturing and supply network to ensure cost efficiency and operational effectiveness
- Continuously evaluate and improve the supply chain network
- In close coordination with the Inventory Manager, maintain optimal inventory levels for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and Drug Product (DP) on a rolling basis
- Implement strategies to minimize excess inventory and reduce stockouts
- Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing and supply operations
- Prepare and present monthly performance reports to senior leadership
- Develop improvement plans for suppliers where KPIs are not being met or maintained

- Ensure operational excellence by leveraging Lean Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement
- Identify and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and quality
- Proactively identify risks and develop strategies to reduce potential supply issues
- Implement risk mitigation plans to ensure smooth operations
- Track critical activities for each batch through the entire network to ensure timely and accurate production and delivery
- Work closely with finance and procurement teams to optimize costs associated with contract manufacturing, including negotiating favorable pricing terms, minimizing waste, and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing and supply chain management, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Proven track record of managing complex supply chains and leading cross-functional teams
