Our mission is to provide comprehensive support that optimizes health and wellness, enabling Veterans to reach their full potential. With headquarters in Devens, MA, and additional offices in Lawrence, MA, and Manchester, NH, we offer world-class programs and services to Veterans and their families.
Position Overview
The Executive Director is a key leader responsible for the overall health and success of CP4VNE, managing the day-to-day operations and ensuring effective delivery of programs and services. This role focuses on administrative oversight, program delivery, fundraising, community outreach, and marketing efforts, supporting the organization's mission and strategic goals. The Executive Director will work closely with the President/CEO, who focuses on strategic planning, long-term vision, and partnership development.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategic
Plan Lead CP4VNE in alignment with goals and objectives defined by the Board of Directors.
Develop and implement strategic priorities in collaboration with the Board
Maintain a compassionate, welcoming, and supportive culture within
CP4VNOperational Management
Oversee all aspects of personnel management, including staff and volunteers.
Ensure efficient and effective operations, maintaining high standards of service delivery
Establish clear expectations and empower leaders within the organization
Financial Performance
Ensure the fiscal integrity of CP4VNE through sound financial practices and policies.
Manage the annual budget and monitor financial performance, providing transparent communication with the
Board
Lead fundraising and development efforts to secure necessary resources for CP4VNE’s mission
Community Engagement:
Serve as the primary spokesperson to constituents, media, and the public
Maintain and enhance CP4VNE’s brand and reputation through active community involvement and engagement.
Lead local and regional outreach initiatives to connect Veterans and their families with CP4VNE’s services.
Team Building and HR Management
Direct, motivate, and inspire staff to work collaboratively and effectively foster a culture of respect, communication, and transparency.
Support employee training and development to improve job satisfaction and retention.
Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Business, Finance, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in senior management, with nonprofit and/or community development experience referred.
Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial planning, fundraising, and risk management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience securing financing, grants, and other funding sources to support Veteran services.
Passion and empathy for Veteran issues with a strong commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
Veteran status highly preferred.
Skill and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of military and Veteran culture, and the challenges Veterans face during reintegration.
Strong strategic planning and program assessment skills.
Proven ability to lead, delegate, and coach subordinates effectively.
Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
Excellent presentation skills and comfort ith public speaking.
