Director of Development - Affordable Housing

Macdonald and Company are proudly partnered with an affordable housing firm to grow their Development team in Salt Lake City, UT.

The 50+ year organization develops ground-up affordable housing for low-income families, along with a number of other initiatives. They now seek an Executive Vice President or Director of Development to play a key role in the delivery of Affordable Housing projects across Salt Lake.

The Role

The EVP/Director is responsible for leading and managing the Development department, including taking a lead role in sourcing projects and ensuring effective execution in every facet of the real estate development cycle. This individual will coach and mentor junior staff members, whilst also working closely with the community to ensure housing programs meet economic development goals.

Experience

• 8+ years of real estate development experience
• A track-record in affordable housing development, with key strengths in project assembly and financing.
• Leadership experience as an executive within a complex administrative environment.
• Strong strategic skills, with demonstrated experience in integrating vision, strategy, tactics and activities to move an issue forward to further the objectives of the firm.
• A creative and collaborative leadership style.
• Demonstrated leadership ability in dealing with diverse segments of the community and establishing public/private partnerships.
• Skills in negotiation, public presentation, effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to manage and change in a dynamic environment.
• A bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, finance, construction, architecture, or related field.
