Description

  • Provide administrative support to the Events Manager in the planning and execution of university events.
  • Assist with event logistics, including venue setup, signage, registration, and attendee coordination.
  • Coordinate communication with event vendors, ensuring timely delivery of services and materials.
  • Manage RSVP lists, track attendance, and assist with guest inquiries and accommodations.
  • Assist with event promotion efforts, including drafting social media posts, designing promotional materials, and distributing event invitations.
  • Support on-site event operations, including assisting guests, troubleshooting issues, and managing event flow.
  • Assist with post-event tasks, such as collecting feedback surveys, compiling event analytics, and updating event records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Events Manager to ensure the success of university events.


  • Location: fully on-site; UC San Diego Park & Market, 1100 Market Street, San Diego, CA 92101
  • Anticipated duration: 6 months
  • Compensation: $27 -$29 / hour, including paid holidays and vacation/sick leave. Full-medical insurance also available.
  • Work schedule: Mon - Fri, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM. Occasional evenings and weekends required for events.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, event management, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in event planning or administrative support role is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and event management software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend events.
  • Enthusiasm for the mission and goals of the university.
