Job Title: Outreach and Program Fellow
Location: Virtual (Washington, DC preferred)
Job Type: Fellowship (Part-Time)
Duration: 3 months (August – November 2024). Subject to extension based on available funding.
Salary: $1,500/month
Reports To: Director for National Events
Position Overview
The Outreach and Program Fellow will play a crucial role in organizing and promoting the Pathways to Global Citizenship Youth Summit (Youth Summit) and leading the Fulbright in the Classroom (FIC) initiative. This position will work closely with the Director for National Events, the Associate Director for Philanthropy, the Executive Director, and board members to handle logistics, manage events, support volunteers, and secure sponsorships and grants. The ideal candidate is passionate about community engagement, event coordination, and educational outreach.
Key Responsibilities
Youth Summit Coordination:
Oversee all logistical aspects of the Youth Summit, including scheduling, transportation arrangements, catering, and on-site coordination.
Develop and implement promotional strategies to increase visibility and participant engagement, utilizing various channels such as social media, email campaigns, and partnerships with local organizations.
Ensure the smooth execution of the Youth Summit, coordinating with speakers, volunteers, and vendors.
Identify and secure sponsorship and grant opportunities to support the Youth Summit, handling partnership agreements and ensuring expectations are met.
Fulbright in the Classroom Leadership:
FIC is a nationwide program that brings Fulbright alumni into K-12 classrooms to share their international experiences and perspectives to promote global understanding.
Create marketing materials and communication strategies to increase FIC visibility and participation among schools, educators, and the broader community.
Coordinate with schools, educators, and alumni to facilitate classroom visits, both in-person and via virtual sessions.
Collaborate with educators and alumni to develop engaging educational content for classroom presentations, aligning with curriculum standards and Fulbright objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Experience in event planning and promotion.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Passion for education, cultural exchange, and community engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in securing sponsorships and fundraising.
Familiarity with the Fulbright program and international exchange initiatives.
Proficiency in social media marketing and digital communication tools.
