The ideal candidate has8+ years of fulltime experienceIn technical construction work experience,5+ yearsof which must have been in one of the estimating areas of architecture, electrical, mechanical or plumbing, as well as aBachelor's Degreefrom an accredited college or university with a major in architecture, construction management, engineering, environmental services or related course work, and resides in the area of New York, NY.
This position will be full-time, On-site inLong Island-Queens, NY.

This position will be full-time, On-site inLong Island-Queens, NY.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIESinclude, but are not limited to, the following:
- Confer with a broad range of technical, professional and managerial personnel as well as designers, consultants and contractors to coordinate and establish a detailed cost estimate
- Prepare and/or ensure the preparation of detailed cost estimates for all phases of design and/or construction
- Supervise the development of quantity surveys and cost evaluations relating to design documents, contract drawings, specifications or contract changes
- Review and report on contract estimates prepared by private consultants; recommend if estimate is appropriate for SCA’s implementation
- Participate in cost negotiations
- Plan, assign and review the cost estimating work of estimates
- Perform related tasks
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to construction required
- 8+ years of fulltime, professional experience In a construction and design related field, 5 of which much have been in one of the estimating areas of architecture, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat)
- Fluent in English with strong verbal/written communication skills
- Willingness to travel on-site across New York, NY. Valid driver's license required
