Job Summary:

Review assigned projects for viable integration into our wheelhouse, making sure it conforms to our standards, and bid it according to our SOP’s.


Duties/Responsibilities:

• Review, interpret and understand all contract bid documents.

• After determining scope, complete accurate and detailed take offs within company SOP’s.

• Utilize internal and external resources to obtain accurate material prices and vendor quotes.

• Work with sales, project management, production department, and others as necessary to ensure the items are bid for constructability, and upon award of the project, are manufactured accordingly and within budgeted value.

• Combine all material, production, shipping, and other associated costs in order to calculate a final proposed bid price.

• Communicate thoroughly and regularly with customers regarding RFI’s, clarifications and scope.

• Respond accurately and timely to customers and internal questions about the scope of work and takeoffs.

• Upon bid acceptance, attend required handoff meetings to ensure efficient and complete transfer of information.

• Prepare and present all needed information at the Hand-Off meeting including detailed bid documents.

• Maintain relationships with sub-contractors and vendors to ensure quality proposals.

• Organize all information necessary for the bidding process, including specifications, plans and a list of the products to be bid, and distribute information to appropriate vendors for pricing.

• Follow up with trade contractors and suppliers to ensure their bids are returned in a timely manner.

• Be able to present and explain your bid for review to multiple people and/or departments prior to bid submission.

• Be able to meet established deadlines.

• Follow up with the sales team members and/or customers as required.


Required Skills and/or Education:

• Minimum of 5 years’ estimating High End, Custom, Commercial Architectural Millwork.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Document Management Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, Bluebeam, INNERGY, etc.)

• Thorough knowledge of millwork and cabinet related materials: wood species, veneers, core material, moldings, finishes, laminate, solid surface, functional hardware, decorative hardware, stone, glass, and ornamental metal.

• Proven track record of working with sales, customers, and networking to build and support a client base.

• Be thoroughly knowledgeable of custom commercial architectural millwork and AWI standards.

• Have a detailed understanding of all construction documents and standards related to the millwork industry.

• Expert knowledge of architectural millwork materials, fabrication, means and methods.

• Understanding of industry standards and guidelines such as AWI, FSC and LEED.

• Experience with INNERGY Software a plus.

• Provide references including projects bid and successfully completed.

• Ability to work remotely.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None. Managed by the Estimating Manager


Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Occasionally attending a descope or project meeting in the field 6-8 times a year for a day.
