Estimating Manager (E&I)

The Estimating Manager (E&I) is responsible for the management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of conceptual and detailed estimates for various complex projects. Directs the quantitative development of material, labor, and subcontract take-offs, as well as the coordination of information among Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and project teams.

- Supervises and assure the quality and timeliness of all estimating and bidding activities
- Assists and/or leads proposal preparation, presentation and securing new work
- Develops the estimate plan and coordinates estimate development with the project team
- Prepares Work Package Estimate breakdowns in conjunction with the project team
- Leads the development of the total project estimate; detailed and/or conceptual
- Prepares the total Project Basis of Estimate
- Prepares the Estimate Risk Analysis and makes cost contingency recommendations
- Analyzes and makes independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
- Supports preparation and Presentation of Project Estimates to Executive and Client management Teams
- Other duties as assigned
Show your expertise
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) preferred
- 10+ years of experience in the commercial construction industry
- 7+ years of competitive bid experience preferred
- Experience in commercial estimating
- Experience on Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning (EPCC) projects is required
- Experience in Commercial building, Clean Room and Tool Install construction desired
- Experience with the following software applications preferred: Trimble GCEstimator (WinEst, Modelogix, Vico) and Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, etc)
- BIM estimating experience desired
- Ability to prepare conceptual cost model estimates from limited information using local historic cost information
- Understands the fundamental concepts of engineering drawings
- Ability to effectively perform material take offs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Exceptional organization and coordination skills
- Ability to travel to support both project and corporate need
