Join our team as an ESOL Teacher for intermediate-level English learners. This full-time position involves teaching, advising, and developing curriculum tailored to meet student needs and goals.
Responsibilities
Teach 8 hours of ESOL classes weekly, split evenly between remote and face-to-face instruction.
Deliver 8 hours of Critical Thinking/Writing classes weekly to high-intermediate ESOL students, utilizing both remote and face-to-face formats.
Conduct 4 hours of Distance Learning Education weekly for intermediate/high intermediate students, balancing synchronous (Zoom) and asynchronous instruction.
Implement ESOL Professional Standards to ensure effective instruction and student engagement.
Maintain culturally sensitive communication with students and promptly address any concerns.
Integrate computer technology into curriculum to enhance learning outcomes.
Develop and update instructional materials based on student needs and changing educational trends.
Keep accurate records of student attendance and progress.
Provide academic advising to support students in achieving their educational goals.
Coordinate volunteer tutoring services within assigned classes.
Participate actively in weekly staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Ensure student records are accurately maintained using agency reporting tools.
Foster a culturally inclusive environment that supports students' academic, personal, and professional growth.
Fulfill Additional Responsibilities As Needed To Meet Program Requirements.
Collaborate closely with ESOL team members, coaches, and advisors.
Adapt to classroom and remote teaching environments, utilizing technology effectively.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a similar setting.
Proficient understanding of educational theory and best practices.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications.
Ability to work compassionately and effectively with diverse student populations, demonstrating cultural competence.
Flexible to work in both remote and on-site environments as needed.
