ESL Program Instructor

The ESL Instructor is responsible for providing English language lessons to students from different backgrounds and cultures. The ESL instructor will be responsible for planning lessons and activities, adopting a creative approach, and encourage students to interact with each other to improve their English-speaking skills

ESL Instructor Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials and resources relevant to the class needs
  • Encouraging and engaging students to speak in English.
  • Displaying excellent classroom management.
  • Keeping accurate records of student performance and attendance
  • Communicating with the ESL Coordinator and Literacy Director, as needed.
  • Maintaining standardized guideline

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/ GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, English or related field from four-year college or university preferred
  • Hold or obtain as soon as possible Literacy Certification/or ESL Certification.
  • Prior teaching experience
  • Ability to teach adult students from different backgrounds
  • Display patience and cultural awareness
  • Bilingual (Spanish/ English) preferable.
