EARNEST Partners is seeking an energetic and talented individual to join our Trading team as an Equity Trader. The role will focus on Institutional portfolio trading across multiple disciplines, both domestic and international, Separately Managed Account (SMA) and Unified Managed Account (UMA) programs. This includes trading for new fundings, rebalancing contributions and withdrawals, liquidations, tax harvests, and the overall administration and oversight of our Institutional and Wrap portfolios and their underlying accounts.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Generate and execute trades within standard operating procedures, seeking best execution, and ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
  • Audit accounts on a daily basis to maintain alignment with core representative models.
  • Generate and maintain all trade related reporting functions.
  • Monitor portfolios, trades and risk metrics.
  • Recommend and support implementation and documentation of process changes to increase efficiency.
  • Complete all other relevant tasks issued by senior traders.


Qualifications:

  • 3 - 5 years of financial services experience, ideally in equity trading.
  • A command of the public markets, ability to assess and evaluate market news and data, and ability to provide portfolio managers with ongoing and relevant information about market sentiment, trading environment, trading volume, price volatility, etc.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Risk awareness and strict attention to procedural adherence.
  • Bachelors and/or advanced degree in Finance, Economic, Mathematics, Accounting, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Ability to work in a high pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to adhering to the highest standards of professional ethics.
  • Hard working and eager to learn in a highly intellectual, collaborative environment.


It's a plus if you have these skills:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proficiency in a programming language is a plus (eg Python, Java, C++, SQL, C#, Matlab, R, or VBA)
  • Experience using Wrap Trading platforms such as APL, Envestnet, Fiserv, FolioDynamix, Lockwood Manager Workstation, Morgan Stanley, etc.
