Job Description: As an Equity Trader, you will be responsible for executing trades in equity markets on behalf of clients or your firm. Your primary role involves analyzing market data, identifying trading opportunities, and executing buy and sell orders to maximize profits or minimize losses. You will leverage your knowledge of market trends, technical analysis, and trading strategies to make informed decisions and manage risk effectively. Additionally, you will monitor portfolio performance, implement trading strategies, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze market data, including price movements, trading volumes, and news events, to identify potential trading opportunities.
Execute buy and sell orders for equities, options, or other financial instruments based on market analysis and trading strategies.
Monitor portfolio positions, track market trends, and adjust trading strategies accordingly to optimize performance.
Manage risk exposure by setting stop-loss orders, implementing hedging strategies, and adhering to risk management protocols.
Utilize trading platforms, order management systems, and electronic trading tools to execute trades efficiently and accurately.
Communicate with clients, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on trading activity, performance, and market conditions.
Stay informed about market developments, regulatory changes, and industry trends affecting equity trading activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field (Master's degree or CFA designation preferred).
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in technical analysis, charting tools, and trading software.
Experience in equity trading, market making, or proprietary trading preferred.
Knowledge of equity markets, trading strategies, and financial products (e.g., stocks, options, futures).
Ability to work effectively under pressure, make quick decisions, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members and interact with clients.
Understanding of risk management principles, trading regulations, and compliance requirements.
Series 7 and Series 63 licenses (or equivalent) may be required for regulatory compliance.
