Position Description

Opus’ technologies and services help our state partners meet strict US EPA Clean Air regulations by managing vehicle inspection programs, Vehicle Information Databases, and developing differentiated solutions for remote vehicle monitoring.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain repair all inspection equipment in all program environments as needed
  • Travel to various program locations to troubleshoot equipment and analyze appropriate documents to determine cause of trouble and malfunctions in major test equipment, test setups, and test procedures.
  • Perform maintenance and overhaul of instruments and equipment.
  • Ensure that all preventive maintenance, calibration, and vehicle maintenance schedules are met.
  • Maintain inventory and requisition supplies as needed.
  • Complete the necessary paperwork, report on assigned work, and assist in the completion of records, reports, and other test documents.
  • Provide Inspection Facility Management with telephone consultation regarding immediate problems
  • Provide support to State audit teams as needed.
  • Perform other tasks as required by the Systems Support Manager.
  • Travel to visit all program inspection facilities as needed
  • Physical Demands: Working in an area with high noise level. Exposure to exhaust fumes and extreme weather conditions. Lifting of 75 lbs. from ground to chest level. Frequent walking, bending and stooping.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of digital and analog electronics.
  • Must be familiar with test equipment including digital multimeters.
  • Should have experience with principles of electro-mechanical operations and a working understanding of pneumatics.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Associates Degree in Electronics is preferred but not required.
  • Current Indiana driver’s license and a good driving record.
