Come work for the City of Leadville for our Streets Department! The City of Leadville is seeking a Streets Worker. This position will require a current Colorado Class B CDL. The city is willing to train applicants without a CDL. Applicants with a Colorado Class A or B CDL are eligible for a $1,000 signing bonus after six full months of continued employment. Tanker endorsement is a plus.

Description of responsibilities:

  • Individuals in this position are responsible for performing the duties of the Streets Department, including:
    • Pavement maintenance,
    • Street & sidewalk construction,
    • Alleys,
    • Bridges,
    • Rights-of-way,
    • Snow & ice removal,
    • Drainage facilities including ditches,
    • Street signage and
    • Specific infrastructure relating to the City of Leadville
  • Operate any given piece of Streets equipment, as directed by the supervisor
  • No supervisory responsibilities
Required Experience/ Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in street maintenance or related heavy equipment field
  • Ability to meet requirements for CDL holders with respect to the City’s Drug & Alcohol Policy for Safety-Sensitive positions under FMCSA Guidelines
  • Must be able to work five 8 hour shifts, Mon-Fri, with possibility of being called in after hours for emergencies and/or snow plowing & removal
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and valid medical examiners card
