Environmental Scientist

Converse Consultants is looking for a Staff Environmental Scientist that evaluates, selects and applies standard Environmental Science techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position or equivalent bachelor's degree in science.

Reporting Structure/Limits of Authority and Responsibility

Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions. Assistance is furnished on unusual problems and work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment.

Typical Duties

Performs work that involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents. Assignments usually include one or more of the following: Phase I and II environmental site assessments, site remediation, indoor air quality assessment, mold studies and management, compliance consulting, field exploration, supervision of subsurface borings, collection of soil, ground water samples and water quality parameters, asbestos and lead surveys, asbestos and lead abatement monitoring, information retrieval (from various sources), permit preparation, site reconnaissance, documenting field activities, report preparation, business development, client maintenance, proposal preparation, and overall support of the regional operation.

Education/Registration Status/Professional Attainments

Bachelors Degree or equivalent professional experience
