This position will be located at Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of Environmental Quality, Environmental Remediation Program, 1730 East Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO.
Tanks has a great team atmosphere. We provide clear expectations and lots of training opportunities. Working to cleanup petroleum releases is a highly fulfilling endeavor, improving both human health and the environment.
Provide critical review of technical environmental documents
Help the regulated community understand the laws and regulations regarding petroleum storage tank releases
Work with stakeholders to cleanup releases to promote property utilization while protecting human health and the environment
To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:
Environmental Science : Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and methods to protect and improve the quality of the environment and its resources; and to monitor, control, abate, and prevent pollutants.
Attention to Detail : Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Oral and Written Communication : Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, consider the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Equivalent To Those Typically Gained By
A Bachelor’s degree with 0-4 years of relevant experience (Substitutions may be allowed.)
Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a positive manner.
Knowledge of federal and state laws, rules, and regulations.
Ability to work effectively, independently, and collaboratively.
Work cooperatively with other sections within the Environmental Remediation Program, other parts of the Department, other agencies, and external stakeholders.
Ability to take initiative when there is little direction available.
Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
