Position Purpose: This is a work experience, summer youth seasonal position. They will work as an assistant to the Environmental Department staff. Must be Native American to qualify for this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Cleaning ponds at fish hatchery and other related tasks. Willingness to learn new things, and how to use equipment if necessary. Motivated, self-starter, able to carry out required tasks as assigned by supervisor. Punctual, and maintains good attendance. Maintain appropriate files and records accurately. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. College hours with a strong emphasis on science are desirable. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Reliable worker. Punctual. Willingness to learn. Self-motivated, and able to work without direct supervision or constant monitoring. Great interpersonal skills. Certifications: Valid Driver’s License and Insurance. Conditions of Employment: The Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma operates a drug-free workplace. May be required to submit to and pass applicable drug tests and background checks. Adhere to all work rules, policies & procedures, and safety standards. Work Requirements: Position involves prolonged standing, sitting, stooping, bending, lifting, or carrying up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
