**This position is based in Midland, TX.**
Role Description:
As an EHS Specialist at CalTex Energy Group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, and the environment. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs and procedures to minimize risks and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization. This is a full-time on-site role for an Environmental Health Safety Specialist.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Developing and delivering safety training programs for employees and contractors
Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address safety concerns and improve safety performance
Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our HSE programs
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
Years of experience in HSE management, preferably in the Oil & Gas Industry
Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA)
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
Certification in health and safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus
