Environmental Engineer

Plexos Group LLC is currently seeking Remote Environmental Engineers to support a FEMA Disaster Recovery and Hazard Mitigation program for the State of Florida. As an Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that disaster response and recovery efforts comply with environmental laws and regulations. You will play a critical role in helping communities recover from disasters while protecting the environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct environmental impact assessments for proposed disaster recovery projects.
• Develop and implement environmental management plans and procedures.
• Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
• Provide technical advice on environmental issues to project managers and other stakeholders.
• Review and analyze project designs and proposals for potential environmental impacts.
• Develop strategies to mitigate environmental impacts of disaster recovery efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in environmental impact assessment and environmental compliance.
• Knowledge of federal environmental laws and regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience in disaster recovery or emergency management.
• Experience with HUD guidelines and programs

Although this position is remote, travel may be required to disaster sites depending on the needs of the disaster recovery efforts.
