We are seeking an entry-level Environmental and Permitting Analyst for gas and electric distribution, transmission, and substation utility projects. This position will be in our Environmental Permitting and Compliance Group and based out of a client's office in Rochester, NY or Binghamton, NY. The position will mainly be officed based with occasional fieldwork. The ideal candidate will be a highly-motivated worker with a willingness to work both independently and on a team, learning as much as possible on a variety of gas and electric utility projects. The position will require someone who is willing to manage a variety of different tasks and projects simultaneously. Ideally, the candidate will have an environmental education and/or an environmental or permitting work background.
Assist client environmental permitting managers and team with a variety of tasks
Provide administrative support, such as attending meetings, recording meeting minutes, developing PowerPoint presentations, researching regulations and codes, proofreading documents, etc
Assist with environmental permitting (e.g. wetland/stream impacts, stormwater, threatened and endangered species, historical/cultural impacts, rights-of-way, railroads, municipal, Article VII, Part 102, etc.)
Assist with various environmental and permitting initiatives and SOPs
Organizational and multitasking skills are a must while working in a fast-paced environment
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Independently manage assignments and meet project deliverable schedules while simultaneously working as part of a team
Experience with environmental permitting a plus
Experience with gas or electric utility projects a plus
Requirements
BS in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering or related field of study
Willingness to learn as much as possible
Willingness to work on a variety of different projects
Good verbal and technical written communication skills are essential as well as time management skills
Salary Range: $20 - $27 per hour
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
