Position Overview:

This working manager position serves as the subject matter expert on HSE, security, and emergency response issues and provides the support necessary to maintain an injury and incident-free work environment, ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and develop employee competency regarding HSE issues. The HSE Manager will lead the integration of HSE requirements into operational practice.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate emergency response & security drills, training, and incident response activities.
  • Conducts an annual Hurricane Preparation meeting with management team prior to Hurricane season.
  • Development, implement and manage employee notification systems, processes and procedures in the event of emergencies.
  • Frequent travel to Regional Centers (Europe, Asia) to support HSE awareness and implementation.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and improvement of HSE programs.
  • Identify and implement solutions to eliminate occupational safety risks.
  • Develop, own and ensure compliance with HSE Manual and associated processes.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of safety requirements in various project related activities as needed.
  • Develop and present monthly safety meeting topics.
  • Maintain HSE records.
  • Lead or participate in incident investigation teams.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, HSE, or related technical field desired. Associate’s degree will be considered with additional work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years HSE experience in energy industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA & TCEQ regulations highly desired.
  • Experience in maintaining and continuously improving HSE management systems.
  • Must be self-motivated and directed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing using the English language
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports and procedure manuals
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions
  • No specific certifications, licensure or registrations are needed to satisfactorily perform this job however Certification in Business Continuity (CBCP or higher) is preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.


Work Authorization:

The ideal candidate for this role will have authorization to work in the US prior to joining Hanwha. This role will not sponsor or help with the sponsorship for work authorization in the United States.
