Keystone achievements is seeking life-changing, passionate people to add to our team! If you want to impact and influence positive change in children’s and young adult’s lives, consider a Behavior Technician position with Keystone Achievements and we will train you to do just that! A career with Keystone allows you to support and challenge yourself while mentoring kids to make life-long changes in their growth and become more independent. The exciting, expanding, and science-based field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is looking for you! ABA is a therapeutic modality used to teach functional skills to students that do not learn well in the typical classroom setting. ABA is most commonly used to teach those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) but can be helpful for a myriad of diagnosis and conditions.

Keystone Achievements set out in 2017 to change the face of ABA in Colorado Springs. The two most significant differences are how we treat our students and our team. When we work with our students, we approach each individual with a focus on skills that are functional and will improve their quality of life. The most effective manner for teaching these things is in a naturalistic teaching environment. This allows skills to be learned in a way that will make the most functional transition into real fluency. Keystone prides itself on providing the best training and supports for our team. Professional development is ongoing, providing opportunities for continuous growth in the field and opportunities for advancement. Keystone is also founded on a work/life balance philosophy and cultural standard that’s centered on creating opportunities to enjoy life, both in and outside of the workplace, a standard. These cornerstones have allowed Keystone to rapidly grow from a team of 3 to a team of over 100 in less than 3 years working with over 80 families, and we’re not done yet! There are still hundreds of families in Colorado Springs that need services and the quality of care we can provide. Come be a part of a team that sees phenomenal growth from our students and staff every single day! We are currently growing our team of Behavior Technicians (BT) and credentialed Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT). Don’t have experience or the credential? No problem. We love to train and welcome new staff to this exciting field!

Role And Responsibilities

The primary role of the BT and RBT is to provide continuous supervision applying the principals of ABA in accordance with the Behavior Intervention Plan (“BIP”) and established programming goals while working 1:1 with students on the Autism Spectrum. All interventions (outlined in the BIP) and relevant Data should be taken nonstop. The BT is responsible for documenting all Behavior and using such skills as Functional Communication Training, Prompting Strategies and Reinforcement strategies to meet all predetermined goals. Additionally, BT’s manage episodes of behavior and will be trained in the proper and appropriate use of Safety-Care for De-escalation and Physical Management. Ability to manage levels of stress associated with behavioral episodes while following through with the principals of ABA and maintaining a neutral demeanor is necessary in this field. Finally, BT’s work with the BCBA to collect, monitor, and input data from all programming and interventions. BT’s will report and evaluate progress with BCBA to guarantee best use of therapy time with each of our students.
