Enterprise Risk Vice President

Our client is a well established Tier 1 investment bank that is continuing to grow their risk function in the United States with this Enterprise Risk Vice President being a crucial hire for them on their strategic risk management department.

Role Responsibilities:

• Support the governance and enhancement of new products by effectively facilitating risk review meetings and driving go/no-go decisions.
• Clearly communicate challenges, issues, required decisions, resolution pathways, and next steps for new products and activities.
• Demonstrate agility in managing multiple deadlines across competing and conflicting priorities.
• Showcase excellent problem-solving abilities, breaking down issues and quickly adapting to new challenges, with strong attention to detail.
• Identify current risk management activities and governance structures; assist in formulating the desired state based on regulatory and best practices; conduct gap analyses; and develop the target operating model.
• Exhibit strong relationship management skills, working effectively with stakeholders across various departments and management levels, including executives.
• Assist in delivering large-scale risk, regulatory changes, and technical initiatives.
• Learn, execute, and communicate regulations and strategic risk management objectives to large working groups, including staff and senior management.
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, translating these skills to address complex issues and drive initiatives.
• Excel in using PowerPoint and Excel tools effectively.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree, CFA, or FRM certification
• 3-8 years of experience in the financial services industry or relevant management consulting roles
• Proven track record in overseeing new product or business initiatives, collaborating with multiple cross-functional teams within a large U.S. bank or foreign banking organization (FBO)
• Comprehensive understanding of credit, market, liquidity, and operational risks
