Enterprise Application Integration (EA) Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) Engineer to play a critical role in modernizing and optimizing our data integration infrastructure. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in data integration tools, technologies, and methodologies to design, develop, and implement robust solutions that ensure the seamless flow of financial data across systems. This position requires a strong technical background, a deep understanding of financial data, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Florida PALM Implementation: Analyze and define the impact of the Florida PALM implementation on existing department interfaces. Develop and execute a comprehensive migration plan to transition to modern technologies like Informatica and Microsoft .NET
  • Data Integration Solutions: Design, develop, test, and deploy data integration solutions focusing on financial data accuracy, integrity, and security. Detail data element inputs and outputs for department computing assets interfacing with the Department of Financial Services FLAIR
  • Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and the Office of the Comptroller to gather financial data requirements and develop financial data models
  • Technology Evaluation: Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate data integration tools and technologies, prioritizing financial data security and efficiency
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and performance of financial data integration solutions
  • Mentorship: Mentor and train FDOT staff on best practices for leveraging Informatica tools
  • Documentation and Compliance: Create detailed documentation for financial data integration processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating knowledge transfer
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical team members to ensure the successful implementation of data integration projects
  • Agile Development: Participate actively in SCRUM meetings, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (equivalent work experience may be considered)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in systems integrations and/or ETL (extract, transform, and load)
    • Proven experience with integration tools such as Informatica and Microsoft SSIS, with demonstrated success in deploying them for desired outcomes
    • Experience working with flat file integrations, FTP, and SFTP
Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Technical Expertise:
    • Knowledge of advanced systems integration topics (Web APIs, Data Streams)
    • Strong understanding of data encryption and its importance
    • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts
    • Strong SQL skills
    • Experience with data cleansing and transformation
    • Familiarity with ETL processes
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Knowledge of Agile Project Management methodologies and practices, including SCRUM
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Informatica certification is highly desirable
  • Experience:
    • Experience with Informatica PowerCenter, Microsoft Power BI, and Oracle Data Warehouse
    • Knowledge of mainframe programming languages, computer systems, and supporting software
    • Knowledge of financial systems (ERP) and experience with WebFOCUS
Hybrid Work Schedule:

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing flexibility while maintaining in-person collaboration. You will be expected to work in the office a minimum of three days per week, with the remaining days eligible for remote work.

Onboarding: To ensure a smooth transition and foster team connection, your first day will be onsite.
