The Enrollment Services Advisor III plays an integral role in the recruitment of student-athletes and requires a deep understanding of admission processes and athletic guidelines. In collaboration with athletics personnel, this position works closely with prospective student-athletes who will contribute to the athletic and academic excellence of UT Dallas. Additionally, this position supports the Office of Admissions with domestic recruitment and travel as needed, guiding prospective first-time in college students, transfer students, and their families throughout the admission process.

Minimum Education And Experience

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in college admissions, student advising, student recruitment, or related field.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Athletics Liaison

  • Coordinate interactions between prospective student-athletes, coaches, and the Office of Admissions to ensure a seamless and positive experience.
  • Assist student-athletes in navigating the admission process, including application submission, transcript evaluation, and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate with Athletics Department staff to provide support for admission and scholarship criteria.
  • Stay well-informed on NCAA eligibility requirements and regulations and provide guidance to student-athletes as needed.

Recruitment & Outreach

  • Increase the number of qualified enrolled students by extensively communicating with and servicing a dynamic population of prospects, applicants, and admitted students.
  • Represent UT Dallas through attendance at high school college fairs, transfer fairs, and community engagement events; present information sessions to small and large groups.
  • Maintain knowledge of UT Dallas as a whole to provide students and families with accurate and up-to-date information; disseminate information related to admission, scholarships, and financial aid to prospective undergraduate students in an ethical manner while ensuring confidentiality and FERPA compliance.
  • Stay well-informed on federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures as well as University degrees, majors, programs, research, and admission requirements; stay abreast of industry standards and trends.
  • Apply strategies to work successfully with student groups from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Advise prospective transfer students on credit transfer and articulation, as well as the application process.

Territory Management

  • Work with Assistant Director to develop and implement comprehensive recruitment plan for assigned territory through data collection and analysis; track and report statistical data to measure effectiveness of activities throughout the recruitment and admission cycle.
  • Actively and frequently travel within territory throughout the year to recruit and disseminate information about UT Dallas and the admission process. This REQUIRES extensive travel, including evening, extended overnight and weekend travel.
  • Coordinate travel assignments and schedules while maintaining complete and accurate expense records.
  • Plan, coordinate, and schedule activities while monitoring existing projects; proactively organize workshops, presentations, virtual events, and table visits at various schools and community organizations to increase visibility of UT Dallas.
  • Cultivate relationships with high school counselors, school representatives, and community college partners.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Provide exemplary customer service to the public as well as internally within the department and UT Dallas community via phone, e-mail, CRM systems, and in-person counseling, responding to inquiries within 24 hours.
  • Work with team members to create and implement recruitment strategies that support territory, departmental, and institutional goals.
  • Actively participate in University and department events on campus.
  • Attend and contribute to all assigned trainings, meetings, and events.

Application Evaluation

  • Evaluate credentials utilizing holistic review approaches for freshman and transfer applicants.
  • Participate in admission committees to recommend admission decisions for applicants.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional presentation and public-speaking skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as active listening and interpersonal skills; knowledge of cross-cultural communication needs and styles and ability to respond accordingly
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn new software
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage several projects at a time
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze and interpret data and apply strong reasoning skills to prioritize information, to make informed, data-driven decisions, and to proactively identify potential issues and investigate possible solutions
  • Ability to work effectively in a strong team environment, take direction, and follow instructions

This position REQUIRES extensive travel, including evening, extended overnight and weekend travel.

Remote Work Notice

Following successful completion of an initial training period, a hybrid work schedule may be available, subject to business needs and departmental approval. Employee must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be cancelled.
