The Team

The Enrollment Advisor team leads Hazel's growth by enrolling prospective families into Hazel's virtual therapy program for K-12 students. As a family's first contact with Hazel, you will compassionately and seamlessly guide them through the first steps of their child's mental health journey with us: from initial outreach, to enrollment, to scheduling their first therapy appointment.

The Role

As an Enrollment Advisor, you will play a key role in expanding Hazel's mission & care impact by driving the enrollment of children who are referred through our school channel. This means that a caring adult at school (typically a school counselor or social worker) identified the student as struggling with unmet mental health needs, and took the step of referring the child to a Hazel therapist.

This is where you pick up the baton. You will reach out to the student's parent — who may not have heard of Hazel before, or feel unsure about the idea of their child seeing a therapist — and compellingly communicate the value of Hazel's virtual therapy program to their family in a way that not only puts them at ease, but gets them excited and hopeful about the potential outcome. From there, you will help the family complete the steps of our enrollment process until they begin the program, when you pass the baton to their Hazel therapist.

What You'll Do

  • Lead consultation calls with parents (whose child has been identified as having an unmet mental health need) and motivate them to enroll in our online therapy program.
    • These are not one-size-fits-all scripted robotic telemarketing calls, but complex consultative two-way dialogues with parents who span a wide spectrum of diversity (e.g., in attitudes towards mental healthcare, socioeconomic status, demographic and cultural backgrounds, etc.).
    • Each parent you speak to will come from a unique perspective and situation. Your job is to meet them where they are, gently and creatively help them overcome initial concerns/questions, and effectively communicate how Hazel's virtual therapy program can improve their child's and their family's life.
    • Please note this can sometimes involve exposure to, and require comfort with, navigating highly sensitive and emotionally-charged topics.
  • Own initial outreach and subsequent communication with parents throughout the enrollment process; remain diligent in follow-up until they complete their first therapy appointment.
    • This consists of conducting inbound and outbound calls to support families with enrolling their child in Hazel services, and conducting follow-up calls with families who may have missed their visits with the intent to reschedule their appointment.
  • Diligently maintain comprehensive documentation for each referral, including the student's/family's interactions with Hazel.
    • Ensure all required information for enrollment is captured and logged (e.g., whether or not a parent verbally opted into the program over the phone, submitted a consent form, submitted verified insurance information, scheduling preferences, etc.).
What Excites Us

  • You spike on "EQ" — with high emotional intelligence, you can quickly develop rapport (even over the phone or SMS) with people from all backgrounds and attitudes, and tailor your communications accordingly to put anyone at ease and win their trust.
  • You are the kind of person who doesn't let things "fall through the cracks" — you're organized, diligent, and detail-oriented. When you're juggling a lot of competing tasks, you have your own systems to keep track of and prioritize them appropriately, so that no balls get dropped.
  • You're comfortable adapting to frequent change (e.g., piloting new workflows) and have a penchant for independently "figuring it out" when there aren't step-by-step instructions available.
  • You are energized by the ability to track your own performance with metrics — and seize opportunities to improve your craft (whether by attending elective trainings to learn new skills, soliciting and implementing performance feedback from others, etc.),
  • You are passionate about equitable access to mental healthcare, and an evangelist for the power of therapy to change lives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in customer-facing roles required (particularly in sales or commission-based environments).
  • Experience in healthcare, education, or social services environments preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree, strongly preferred.
  • Though most of the above experience/background is preferred, it is not required! The most important traits we're looking for are: a strong sense of drive, the ability to quickly adapt to meet the needs of different situations, the ability to develop rapport over the phone, and the ability to independently and creatively adapt your work approach to achieve team goals.

Our Benefits Include

  • A competitive compensation package, including $60,000 base pay and additional potential earnings through incentive pay eligibility.
  • Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental benefits (with 100% employer-covered plan option).
  • 401(k) contribution platform, with a match of up to 4% to build retirement savings.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • 15 days of accrued, paid time off per year.
  • 10 observed company holidays per year.
  • Remote work from anywhere across the following states: AZ, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, HI, IL, MA, ME, MD, MI, MO, NE, NV, NJ, NM, NC, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VT, VA and WI.
