Summary
We are seeking a passionate ESL Substitute to join our team. As an ESL Substitute, you will provide engaging instruction to adults from diverse backgrounds, fostering their language development and promoting success in their educational journey. This temporary position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students.
Job Responsibilities
Utilize effective ESL methodology to enhance students' learning experiences.
Create and manage online course materials using platforms like Canvas.
Develop instructional materials tailored to students' needs.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, respecting the values and cultures of all students.
Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and rigorous learning environment.
Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills.
Provide guidance and support to students on academic progress and attendance.
Utilize various resources to deliver comprehensive instruction, including textbooks and online materials.
Administer and analyze assessments to inform instructional strategies.
Maintain accurate student records in compliance with policies and regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education, English, linguistics, or related field.
Certificate in teaching ESL, or willingness to obtain within the first year of employment.
Experience In ESL Instruction Preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work effectively in a team.
Bilingual in Spanish required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
TESOL certificate required within the first nine months of employment.
Online teaching certification from an approved provider required.
Valid driver's license and personal automobile insurance required.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
Close vision required for computer work.
Work Environment
Primarily classroom-based, with potential exposure to outdoor conditions.
