The Public Utilities Engineering Division is seeking an Engineering Technician I/II, to add to their Virginia Stormwater Management Program (VSMP), as well as provide support to water and sanitary sewer Project Managers.
Qualifications
This position may be filled as either a Engineering Technician I or Engineering Technician II depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. The associated pay grades and ranges are as follows:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide support to the Regulatory Bureau including the Virginia Stormwater Management Program (VSMP).
Upon obtaining DEQ ESC, & SWMF Inspector certifications, perform SWMF inspections for Department of Public Utilities facilities.
Provide SWMF maintenance recommendations and manage contractor maintenance activities.
Use personal computers, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ArcGIS and similar programs to track, manage and report data.
Research existing utility and site plans and compile project information to accurately reflect existing conditions and utility locations.
Coordinate with inspectors and surveyors as needed for water and sanitary sewer infrastructure data collection.
Manage time efficiently, prioritizing multiple competing tasks while meeting stated deadlines.
Exhibiting good interpersonal and communication skills with coworkers, consultants, permit applicants, contractors, and others.
