ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Working with the engineering team, the Engineering Technician will make improvements to safely improve performance of installed equipment and systems. Additionally, the Engineering Technician will be engaged in the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance (preventive and regular) of industrial equipment and facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Strictly abide by safety procedures, PPE and regulations while performing work

2. Inspect and maintain safety controls to ensure all equipment operates in a safe manor

3. Support production personnel on proper operation and use of equipment

4. Troubleshoot, repair and maintain industrial equipment, including:

a. Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues

b. PLC Ladder logic

c. Servo and variable frequency drives

5. Process work orders to conduct preventative maintenance and repairs of facility and equipment ensuring all activities are properly documented

6. Lead Small Scale Projects/Upgrades of Equipment

7. Read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, specifications, codes, electrical formulas, and handbooks

8. Ensure compliance with the current National Electrical Code (NEC)

9. Fabricate, weld and cut with a torch as required

10. Operate lathe, milling machine and drill press as required


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Certification in related field and minimum of three years industrial equipment maintenance experience. Mechatronics or similar degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of certification.

2. Mechanical/Electrical (Mechatronics) and CAD Experience

3. PLC and HMI Troubleshooting skill required, Programming Proficiency a plus.

4. Electrical Component, Wiring and Instrumentation Panel Building Experience

5. Must be able to perform maintenance tasks safely (lift, twist and work in sitting, squatting, standing and elevated positions) to avoid injuries and accidents

6. Working knowledge of Microsoft applications used for compiling data and work records.

7. Ability to work in Team Based Environment
