Engineering Manager

Job Description

Well established company of 40+ years is rapidly growing and is seeking an Engineering Manager to join the team.

Agricultural Industry Experience Preferred, But Not Required.

The engineering manager plans, organizes and directs others to meet company objectives for design, new product development and improvement of existing products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans and formulates aspects of design and new product design proposals such as objective or purpose of project, applications that can be used from findings, costs of project, and equipment and human resource requirements.

Oversees key design projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis. Plans documentation system.

Selects, develops, trains and supervises staff.

Selects correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement for existing ones.

Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring projects such as: project plans, progress reports, and staff meetings to inform management of current status of each project.

Working with the manufacturing, operations and quality manager, reviews and monitors quality and process improvements and new product development.

Directs the review of production costs and product quality to ensure product life cycle is maintained.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree.

Four to six years’ related experience or training.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers along with specific application software.

Duties occasionally may require working in the manufacturing, service and warehouse areas. Personal protection equipment may be required in these areas.

Some work locations will be typical of product operating environments including exposure to soils, moisture, loud equipment and the presence of agricultural chemicals and petroleum products. Personal protection equipment will be required in these locations.

Occasional overnight travel to customer locations, for training, product testing or trade exhibitions is required.

Job may require long periods of sitting or standing.

Work outside and in addition to normal weekly hours may be required as job duties demand.
