Team JAS, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in aviation component research, design, certification, and quality assurance within an innovative engineering environment. You will gain broad exposure to the engineering field with an array of opportunities ranging from design & analysis to working hands-on with aircraft components.

Established in 1986, Team JAS is an Aerospace Company, specializing in the support of the Twin Otter aircraft. We are proud to be the solutions company worldwide for Twin Otter parts, repair, maintenance, overhaul, and FAA-PMA-approved manufacturing.

The Team JAS Repair Station is FAA Certified (#YJAR8401), EASA Certified (EASA.145.6700), and a Viking Air Factory Endorsed Component Center. Our 33,000-square-foot facility is in Jacksonville, Florida, and houses our inventory, shipping & receiving department, our 145-component repair station, and our PMA/engineering department.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Entry-level engineering tasks
  • Production Work Instructions
  • Production Tooling
  • Assist in design and development using CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks)
  • Aid in creating and updating technical drawings, 3D models, and other related design documentation or data
  • Aid conducting simulations and analyses that validate design concepts and ensure compliance with aerospace standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate design improvements and innovations
  • Participate in the development and implementation of quality control processes for aerospace components
  • Aid in conducting inspections and tests to verify the quality and performance of incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished products
  • Document and report non-conformances, assisting in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
  • Assists in maintaining detailed records of quality assurance activities and preparing reports for review

Estimated Hours:

  • 15-20 Hours Per Week (sometimes up to 25 if needed)
  • This is an onsite position and is not remote.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Attending a nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program in engineering. (Degrees accepted: Aeronautical/Aerospace Mechanical Electrical & Computer
  • Completed core Engineering courses (Statics/Dynamics, Fluids, Thermodynamics, i.e. Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, Systems and Controls)
  • Available a minimum of 20 hours per week
  • Experience with CAD and/ or CAM Software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks)
  • 3D-Printing experience
  • Familiarity with assembly processes and tools
  • Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices
