Engineer Field
Summary: The Field Engineer provides field support and startup assistance to customers as well as service branch support. Primary functions include failure analyses of returned parts, travelling to customer sites as required for troubleshooting, and snapshot analysis. The Field Engineer also provides technical support and on-site startup assistance for the Client’s line of control and monitoring products as well be the technical lead of compressor overhaul projects.

Education And/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) from four-year college or university in engineering and two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Receives inquiries and reports from the field concerning the behavior of reciprocating compressors.
- Performs inspections and failure analysis on returned parts. Maintains records on the cause of failure and any corrective actions which need to be taken. Generates external reports as required.
- Assists in the generation of project documentation and provides on-site support for projects.
- Complete snapshot analyses and communicate results with the customer
- Identify and specify upgrades to maximize compressor reliability
- Ability to travel (50% to 60%)

Technical Skills
- Basic mechanical and electrical skills. Familiarity with tools and safe work practices.
- Basic understanding of reciprocating machinery, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
- Technical writing ability. Must be able to write detailed technical reports that present observations, discuss technical issues, evaluate options and make recommendations.
- Be able to read and understand technical specifications.
- The following experience would be advantageous:
- Machinery condition monitoring
- Aptitude for mechanical systems for commissioning and troubleshooting assignments
