  • Retirement and deferred compensation programs Visit the Employee Benefits page for more information… Position Summary: This law enforcement position plays a key role in the Kansas Department of Revenue's (KDOR) effort in combatting fraud. Investigations include driver's license and identity fraud, fraudulent identification document vendors, vehicle title fraud, and tax fraud as well as internal investigations relating to suspected crimes committed by KDOR employees on the job. Conducts financial investigations of businesses licensed by divisions of KDOR. Investigations may involve criminal networks that commit the fraud to facilitate larger crimes including money laundering, forced labor trafficking, U.S. visa fraud, aggravated identity theftt and other federal crimes. Law enforcement authority is necessary for incumbent to work effectively and efficiently, leveraging criminal justice sources, preparing arrest and search warrants and pursuing criminal prosecution when appropriate.   • Special or Professional. Licensing & Certification: Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license to perform the essential functions of this position. Law enforcement certification required upon hire. Minimum Qualifications: Three years' experience in general law enforcement, including one year of investigation experience. Education in criminal justice, fire science or law enforcement may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency Special Requirements: Must be a United States citizen and at least 21 years of age. Must have completed a basic law enforcement training program recognized by the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Commission and obtain certification as a law enforcement officer from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Commission or other state equivalent certification. At time of appointment, candidate must take and pass a drug screening test approved by the Division of Personnel Services. Must submit to a comprehensive background check to include a psychological assessment, polygraph testing, medical physical assessment, criminal database check and background investigation. This position requires the use of a firearm for law enforcement duties and therefore, candidates cannot have been convicted of, and must be free of any diversions from, a felony or misdemeanor domestic violence crime as set forth in 18 U.S.C. 922 (d) (9) and (g) (9). Preferred Experience: Bilingual (Spanish). Three years of investigative experience. Preferred Skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, proofreading, editing, and attention to detail.
