LEAD3R are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Energy Engineer to join our life sciences client. In this crucial role, you will play a lead role in developing and implementing strategies to improve our energy efficiency, reduce our environmental impact, and ensure compliance with relevant standards. You will leverage your expertise in energy management and environmental science to drive sustainable practices across the organization. This role is fully on-site in Clayton, NC.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement site-specific procedures to ensure alignment with our corporate environmental policies.
  • Oversee the fulfillment of all ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 requirements, focusing on optimizing energy costs and minimizing environmental impact.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive regulatory compliance program, including monitoring completion of required activities, conducting inspections, and facilitating audits.
  • Utilize energy management software or equivalent tools to audit and monitor energy consumption, identify improvement opportunities, and track corrective actions.
  • Champion and manage environmental sustainability projects, such as energy and water conservation initiatives, for ongoing optimization and management reporting.
  • Conduct and report on annual environmental audits and collaborate with external auditors during third-party assessments.
  • Provide leadership in continuously improving our environmental programs, pollution reduction initiatives, and efficiency projects focused on cost reduction and performance improvement.
  • Offer technical expertise and guidance to both exempt and non-exempt employees, effectively communicating company and departmental goals related to energy and sustainability.
  • Manage energy-related projects to ensure they are delivered on budget, on schedule, and meet technical specifications, analyzing and reporting results against established business parameters.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field, with a preference for Electrical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Biotech or a similar industry, with a focus on energy management or environmental sustainability.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and a proven track record of successfully leading energy efficiency projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 environmental management standards.
  • Proficiency in electricity and natural gas power systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proactive, results-oriented with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with personnel at all levels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Flexibility to work across various hours and shifts to support 24/7 plant operations.
