Base Salary: $23,400 Actual salary will be calculated based on experience.
Primary Purpose
Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of the art, music and physical education teachers on each campus. Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing of classroom activities.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED required
Associates degree, two years of higher education, or have met formal academic assessment as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
Must register with SBEC to obtain an Educational Aide Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills
Work well with students and teachers
Willing to be a positive team member
Ability to communicate effectively
Experience
Some experience working with children
Major Responsibilities And Duties
Assist teachers and students in the areas of music, art and physical education.
Assist teachers in preparation of student work, workstations, instructional materials and classroom displays.
Help setup and maintain neat and orderly classrooms.
Help with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment.
Adjust on-the-spot instruction without immediate teacher directions when necessary and provide feedback to teacher on students’ progress.
Monitor and manage student behavior during class.
Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy.
Maintain confidentiality.
Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned by principal.
