Performance Responsibilities
Specific objectives and responsibilities of the position include:
- Provides instructional interventions under the direction of the Academic Coach and Interventionist that reinforces reading, language arts, and/or mathematics instruction.
- Helps prepare students for formal and informal assessments.
- Assists with the implementation of intervention plans and lessons, including supporting small-group instruction and preparing lessons and materials.
- Creates and maintains working relationships between parents, scholars, and school staff including conducting academic workshops.
- Nurture a positive relationship with colleagues.
- Demonstrate respect for colleagues.
- Support corporation decisions and direction relative to matters of policy and administrative directives. Work as a team player.
- Demonstrate ability to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful and professional manner.
- Demonstrate commitment to our diversity and inclusion statement.
- Assists with administrative school functions when not providing small-group or individual instruction.
- Attendance at scheduled faculty meetings, professional development meetings and other sessions as determined by the Head of School.
- Attendance at evening events that include but may not be limited to Parent Orientation, Meet the Teacher Night, Parent/Teacher Conferences and Open Houses. The dates of these events are listed on the Master Calendar.
- An expectation of professional and ethical conduct and professional growth throughout the year.
- Collaboratively works with the administration and others to support the policies, guidelines, and working procedures for Herron Classical Schools.
- Performs other duties as determined necessary by the administration.
- An assignment of 180 days with vacation as approved by the Head of School.
- 5 years experience required, preferably as administrative support in an academic setting.
- Strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience working in deadline-driven environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Bachelors’ Degree preferred, high school diploma required.
